This April, we made Documate more user-friendly and visually refined. You now have better feedback for your actions, easier access to page settings and better content organisation options.
We built these changes based on your feedback, focusing on removing obstacles in your daily documentation work. Our focus is to remove small friction points that add up throughout your day so you can create great content with less effort.
Action status alerts
We’ve added clear status messages that appear after you perform common actions. Now you’ll know right away when operations succeed or need attention.
These helpful alerts appear when you:
- Copy URLs or email addresses to your clipboard.
- Delete or restore workspaces.
- Change workspace visibility between public and private.
- Perform an action that doesn’t complete successfully.
This ensures you always stay informed about the outcome of your actions.
💡 Pro tip: These messages automatically fade away after a few seconds, but you can dismiss them earlier by clicking the X.
Better multimedia resize controls
We’ve rebuilt how you resize content in documents. The controls for multimedia blocks now feel more natural and give better visual feedback.
Precisely sizing your screenshots, videos, and diagrams is much easier. The new controls respond better to your adjustments, so you can get your media looking just right.
Quick page settings access
Page settings are now just a keystroke away. Access them directly from the editor with a shortcut!
💡 Pro tip: Type “/” followed by “settings” to open the page configuration panel without moving your hands from the keyboard.
Additional improvements and fixes
📋 Table of contents: Updated with better styling, scrollable container, and clearer scrollbar for easier navigation in longer documents.
📊 Heading structure: Improved style consistency by automatically converting pasted content to match your document’s heading structure.
📑 Last updated info: Fixed text wrap issues to prevent awkward line breaks.
🐞 Placeholder fix: Solved an issue where placeholders appeared even when the editor was not focused.
🎯 Drag-and-drop fixes: Fixed elements that were covering parts of the table of contents.
⚡ Speed improvements: Faster response times when changing workspace visibility settings.
