Documate February 2024: Interactive table menus & Improved navigation

February brings two major improvements that make creating and editing documentation faster and more intuitive.

We’ve enhanced table functionality with new action menus and improved page navigation with better scroll-to-heading behaviour in the table of contents.

These updates focus on reducing friction in your daily documentation workflow.

Enhanced table editing with action menus

Working with tables just got much easier. Select any cell in your table, and you’ll see a small menu icon appear in the top-right corner. Click it to access a complete set of table editing options.

This menu gives you instant access to common table operations like inserting rows above or below, adding columns to the left or right, and removing unwanted rows or columns.

Improved page navigation

Navigation through long pages is now more reliable and smooth. When you click on any item in your table of contents, the editor automatically scrolls to that exact section with improved accuracy and performance.

This enhancement makes jumping between sections easier in lengthy documentation, helping you maintain focus and productivity when working on complex documents with multiple sections and subsections.

A few more improvements

🐝 Editor stability: Resolved issues with node deletion and improved overall editor reliability.

🎨 Visual polish: Fixed UI glitches where interface elements would remain visible after interactions.

✂️ Text extraction: Improved copy and paste functionality for embedded content like Figma designs, ServiceNow components, and YouTube videos.

What’s next?

We’re working on expanding our plugin ecosystem and exploring new ways to make collaboration even more powerful.

Stay tuned for exciting updates in March!
