Documate July 2025: Resize, Add border & Delete media

July brings a complete redesign of how you manage images and embedded content.

We’ve replaced the single resize button with a full menu that allows you to resize, add a border, and delete the element.

More actions menu for all multimedia content

Hover over any image or embedded content to reveal the new “More actions” menu. This replaces the old resize-only button with three clear options: resize your content, add an optional border for better visibility, or delete the element entirely.

Hover over the content, and the menu pops up instantly. No more digging through menus or toolbars.

💡 Pro tip: The menu adapts to different content types, showing only relevant options for what you’re editing.

Optional outline for better visibility

The new option adds a subtle border around images, making them much easier to see. This is particularly helpful when you have white images on white backgrounds or dark screenshots that blend into dark mode.

The outline is off by default to keep your content clean. When you need to see your images clearly, it’s there with one click.

💡 Pro tip: Enable borders when your images blend into the background, like white screenshots on light themes or dark images in dark mode.

Easy content deletion

Remove images and embedded content without disrupting your layout. The delete option removes content cleanly, maintaining proper spacing and text flow around the removal point.

Avoid awkward gaps or text reflow issues after deleting multimedia content. Your document structure stays intact.

💡 Pro tip: Use this new feature to delete images and embedded content directly. You can also delete entire paragraphs or blocks using the block menu on the left for broader content removal.

A few more improvements

🔧 Image resizing: Fixed aspect ratio issues so images maintain proper proportions when resized, during window changes, and inside callouts.

📊 Table spacing: Added proper margins to tables in the editor for better positioning.

🔗 ServiceNow integration: Standardised URL handling prevents duplication and ensures consistent embedding across instances.

🎨 Canva embeds: Enhanced parsing supports links with hyphens and underscores.

💬 Comment mentions: Fixed mention functionality in comments.

What’s next?

We’re working on support for more embedded content types and expanding the menu with additional options for even better content control.
