February’s release is about removing the small frictions that slow you down when writing and organising content — the sidebar that’s never quite the right width, the block you’ve spent time formatting that you need to duplicate somewhere else. Both are now sorted!
A sidebar that fits your workflow
The page drawer on the left has always been a fixed width — too narrow when page titles are long, too wide when you want more room to write. You can now drag the drawer edge to any width you prefer, and Documate remembers your choice the next time you open it.
Page titles also expand to use the full drawer width now, and the action buttons only appear when you hover over a page, keeping the list clean when you’re just browsing.
💡 Pro tip: If you work on a smaller laptop screen, use the Hide pages button to collapse the drawer entirely while writing and bring it back when you need to navigate — Documate remembers your preference automatically.
Copy any block with one click
Recreating a formatted callout, a structured table, or a complex layout block from scratch just to reuse it elsewhere is tedious.
Every block in the editor now has a Copy block option in its drag menu, which copies the entire block — including any nested content — to your clipboard. Paste it anywhere on the same page or a different one.
A small confirmation message appears to let you know the copy worked, so you don’t end up pasting nothing and wondering why.
💡 Pro tip: Copy blocks are especially useful for templated sections like status updates or meeting agendas — build it once, copy it to each page.
A few more improvements
🎨 Callout colours in dark mode: Callout block colours now render correctly in both light and dark mode.
🔒 Embed security: Embedded content now runs with tighter sandbox permissions.
📋 Subpage grids in read-only view: Pages that include a subpage grid now display correctly when viewed in read-only mode.
💬 Dialog text overflow: Long text in confirmation dialogs (including filenames in the attachment delete confirmation) now wraps correctly.
We want your feedback!
Tried the resizable drawer or the copy block feature?
We’d love to hear how it fits into your workflow.
